December 8, 2009 - Revenue and Transportation Full Committee Hearing
Legislative staff prepared a list of alternatives the committee could consider for implementation of the new values fo 2009.
Mr. Dud Mahler, a Montana resident who has been following the past reappraisals offered the committee his options to mitigate the reappraisal.
The department provided the committee with the first draft estimates of the effect of reappraisal of Classes 3, 4 and 10.
The department also provided a series of graphs and information depicting a shift from large businesses to Class 4 properties. The department's graphs failed to take into account the mitigation factors passed by the legislature during the past two reappraisals which greatly exagerates the purported "shift."
