87th Annual Meeting of the Montana Taxpayers Association - December 4, 2008
Red Lion Colonial Hotel, Helena MT

Our annual meeting has become the leading forum in Montana to learn about current issues that are important to all Montana taxpayers. Attending the meeting also provides a valuable networking opportunity for you and your co-workers.

We have invited a representative from the financial industry to be our luncheon speaker.  They will provide an overview of what led up to the global financial crisis and what are some likely outcomes.

You will also get to hear from Senator Jim Peterson, Majority Leader on “Project 2030”.  This project was designed to provide a long term look on how changing demographics could affect Montana’s economy.  Dr. Myles Watts will provide us with a summary of the report.

Next we will hear a panel on Montana’s revenues, budget and economy.

Following will be Superintendent of Public Instruction-Elect, Denise Juneau.  The new Superintendent will give her vision for education in Montana.

There will be a legislative panel of the House and Senate leadership who will give their perspective on the coming session.

We’ll end the day with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments and an opportunity for you to visit with the speakers and other attendees.

I think you will find this year’s conference a valuable source of information and ideas.  I hope you will be able to join us.

Once again, we will be offering reserved tables of 8 for the luncheon.  What a great way to include more members of your firm, other associates or state officials.

Mary Whittinghill
