102nd Annual Meeting Upcoming
December 6, 2023, 10:00 AM
The Montana Taxpayers Association will be holding its 102nd annual meeting on December 6, 2023, at the Great Northern Hotel in Helena. An information packed program is planned. The event will begin with registration at 10 am and continue through the day.

We will kick of the day with a presentation by Department of Administration Director Misty Ann Giles. She will be updating us on the department’s activity in the distribution of Federal funds for broadband deployment in Montana.
John Hines of Northwestern Energy will discuss energy availability and grid capacity in Montana and the region.
Former Secretary of State Bob Brown will offer a brief tribute to Chuck Johnson, longtime state political reporter and participant in our last two annual meetings.
We are waiting confirmation of the keynote address following lunch.
Dr. Patrick Barkey of the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research will be back with his economic outlook presentation.
Chris Dorrington Director of the Department of Environmental Quality will be discussing the Department’s reaction to the Held decision.
Representatives Jim Hamilton and Bill Mercer as well as Legislative Fiscal Division staff Nick Van Brown will be presenting on the plans and activities of the Modernization and Risk Analysis (MARA) committee.
Sam Schaefer fiscal analyst will be providing an update on State revenue and demographic changes in income taxpayers.
We will wrap the day up with our excellent evening reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
